Service Description

Spark an interest in engineering and STEM for your K-2nd grader! Join us for a weekly series of STEAM workshops to introduce your future engineer to mechanical, structural, aeronautical engineering and design! These fun, hands-on projects will get your student excited about STEAM! The four projects will include: Tinkerwagon - Students will use simple materials to design and build a vehicle that can be pushed and/or pulled and carry a payload. Gumdrop Challenge - Students will build the tallest, free-standing structure using toothpicks and gumdrops. Rubber Band Helicopter - Students will design and build a paper helicopter with a propellor powered by a rubber band. It actually flies! Simple catapult - Students build a simple catapult using craft sticks, rubber bands and a spoon. Who can launch things the farthest? We are a Blue Ridge Academy contractor. Blue Ridge families can sign up here using the promo code "blueridgeacademy" to hold your class space, but you are not in the class until you complete the registration process with Blue Ridge Academy.
