Intro to Engineering (K-2) - Session II

Spark an interest in engineering and STEM for your K-2nd grader! Join us for a weekly series of STEAM workshops to introduce your future engineer to mechanical, structural, aeronautical engineering and design! These fun, hands-on projects will get your student excited about STEAM! The four projects will include: Tinkerwagon - Students will use simple materials to design and build a vehicle that can be pushed and/or pulled and carry a payload. Gumdrop Challenge - Students will build the tallest, free-standing structure using toothpicks and gumdrops. Rubber Band Helicopter - Students will design and build a paper helicopter with a propellor powered by a rubber band. It actually flies! Simple catapult - Students build a simple catapult using craft sticks, rubber bands and a spoon. Who can launch things the farthest? We are a Blue Ridge Academy contractor.
