Engineer Factory is an enrichment STEM Learning Center for grades TK–12 that offers enrichment classes in engineering, computer science, coding, and math support in South Los Angeles. We strive to "level the playing field" in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) for students in underserved communities, and foster STEM-confidence and a supportive community. We are finalizing contract to accept charter funds.
#MathSwag
Math is a "gatekeeper" for STEM majors and careers. Engineer Factory want our students to have #MathSwag-competence and confidence! Our #MathSwag program uses online math software, fun online & in-person math games, as well as STEM projects to help 5th-8th grade students better understand math! No need to be intimidated by math....YOU'VE GOT THIS!
Coding & Computer Science
Coding classes for K-12. Courses also include the Piper Computer program where students learn about hardware and programming by building a model laptop computer by following instructions in Minecraft! High Schoolers can work with coaches from Cal State LA to prepare for the AP Computer Science Principles and CSA -Java (coming soon) exams. Great way to earn college credits!
STEM Maker Classes
Want to build a car powered by a balloon? Or learn to code in Kindergarten? Or design and build a marble roller coaster? Do all these things and more at our STEM center. Year-round STEM and Maker activities are here for you!
